How To Make Unstoppable Christians - Phillip Ma

Selah Fellowship Sunday Morning Service
Temptations and enticements are everywhere around us. At camp, we feel 'nearer' to God, and there are less temptations to sin. Even though it is difficult to be a believer to be in this day and age. But it is possible! Not only is it possible, but God expects us to. Stand firm despite all things happening around us! How can we do this?
Patience. Hypomenaie. Its translated to steadfastness, endurance, perseverance. It is a person who is immovable. He is not swerved from his purpose or his path. Like a freight train, once it's on its path, it will keep moving regardless of rain, snow, or it's external environment. It will keep on going till it reaches its destination. When we have "patience", we have this endurance, and motivation to keep going on, to not be moved by the external environment.

Jesus teaches, we need to have patience. We need to be able to pursue it. We have to have it!!!
How do we get hypomenaie? How do we get an unstoppable Christian? We get it through trials, temptations, and testings. We may not agree with going through sufferings, but it is God who uses us to know what true patience is. How do we bypass the hard times? We embrace them.
James 1:2,3,4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trails, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
Trials and temptations is the entry way for pure joy. When you face temptations, and hardships... get excited! Not so much in the sufferings, but rejoice in what it produces. The testing of our faith, makes us more solid everyday!
Suffering for the sake of buffness! Why do we work out? We put our bodies through trials and sufferings. . After going through pain, and breaking down of muscle, our bodies start to build up again. As we go through personal trials in our daily life, we are being persecuted, broken down, but soon we can fight the good fight much stronger than we could initially.
Yielding to sin will cause us to fall away from the Lord. The more we stand strong, the stronger I get.  Rejoice at trials, receive patience, and look forward to the fruit that will be born.
